The end of the 2011 patio garden. We've had too many successive nights with frost. I didn't bother to cover anything up. I can't make that a full time job when I'm away half the time for work. The frost and cold killed off the plants, but I took a few pictures before I got rid of everything.
The tomatoes
Green Bell Pepper
Gypsy Pepper
D.C. Supervised while I cut up and removed what was left of the plants. I saved the few tomatoes and one gypsy pepper that were not ripe, but still in decent condition. I brought them inside in the hopes that they may still ripen and be edible.
While I was working, I noticed that two doors down, one of our neighbors was doing the same thing with the potted plants she had on her deck. Her son was helping her dump old potting soil in the empty lot(part of the next door garden nursery) at the end of the building. When he saw that I was doing the same thing, he decided to come down and check on my progress from time to time. D.C. made a new friend. He wanted to meet the kid, and was frustrated by the screen door that separated them. I opened it a bit so he could get his head out and smell the kid's hand. While D.C. was being social, Figment cowered in the basement between the furnace and the hot water heater. It's her safe place to go when strangers come to visit. I removed the plants and most of their roots, but left the soil and the bottles that make up the self watering pots in place. I had Rosemary and Sage growing in the tomato container and decided to leave them in there since they're perennials. I'll see what happens. We brought the Meyer Lemon tree inside for the Winter.

All cleaned up.
