I came home yesterday afternoon to discover that my upright tomato plant was leaning to the East. The tomato cage just isn't quite deep enough into the self watering container to be stable with all that weight on top. I remedied the situation by standing it upright, then fastening it in position with string tied between the cage and the egg crate that the container is sitting on. For now, it's at least a temporary fix, but I hope it will be last longer.
I also harvested my first tomato off the upright plant. It will finish ripening on my kitchen counter.
